Shops and Services
Whiteley Village is a typical rural village, but one adapted to meet the needs of a very unique community. Its shops and services are described below;
Village Shop & Post Office
Open six days a week you will find a very user-friendly convenience store that is the hub of village life. For those unable to visit in person, the shop is able to offer a delivery service.
Library
Our own library service offers a range of fiction and non-fiction books, in regular and large print, audio books, DVDs and videos, together with an assortment of puzzles.
Hairdressing Salon
Open four days per week, this privately operated salon offers a competitively prices service.
Churches
Within Whiteley Village you will find St Mark’s Church, for Church of England members, and The Sanctuary for those belonging to one of the Free Churches. Transport is available to take villagers to mass at the Catholic Church in Hersham on a Sunday morning.
Licensed Bar
Located in the Leisure Centre, the social club is open most lunch times and evenings. It offers a traditional village pub atmosphere, where regular darts, dominoes, and quiz nights can be enjoyed. In summer, villagers make use of the extensive patio and barbeque area.
Café and Restaurant
Located in the Leisure Centre, a café service is available most mornings and a carvery lunch is available on a Sunday.
Transport
We run a free shuttle bus service within the Village that enables those with mobility difficulties to access the many clubs and facilities that exist. Bookings can be made in advance to ensure availability.
There is also a public bus that connects Whiteley Village with Hersham railway station, Walton on Thames, and the Excel Leisure Centre on the banks of the River Thames.
