Cottages
At the core of the Village are the 272 cottages intended for those who wish, and are able, to live independently. The refurbishment programme that commenced in 2005 has ensured that most are now equipped to meet the most demanding of modern expectations. The refurbishment programme is scheduled for completion by 2012.
The modernised cottages offer centrally-heated accommodation consisting of one or two bedrooms, a spacious sitting room, a kitchen specifically designed to meet the neeeds of our elderly residents, and a fully adapted shower and toilet. All cottages have smoke alarms.
An application for one of our cottages may be made by anyone who is over state retirement age, is of limited means, and is resident within the UK. An application form can be downloaded from here, or you can request us to send you one by clicking here.
Most applicants will be eligible for financial assistance, such as Housing Benefit and Council Tax Credit. Our Welfare staff are very familiar with the benefits system, and will be able to assist you in making your claim.
